The Local Chapter is located immediately outside of the west entrance of the Big Bend National Park and is an 8.5 hour drive from Dallas and a 7 hour drive from Austin, Texas.
The closest commercial airport is Midland (MAF), 237 miles from the Local Chapter. Southwest Airlines offers non-stops to Midland from Dallas, Houston, Austin and Albuquerque (as of fall 2019).
Just 15 minutes from The Local Chapter, the privately-owned Lajitas International Airport has a 6,017' runway and is designed to accommodate a wide range of aircraft.

Marfa Municipal Airport (MRF) is 111 miles from The Local Chapter, offers two asphalt runways and is open to private travelers. Alpine–Casparis Municipal Airport (ALE) is 82 miles from The Local Chapter and welcomes private flights. Both cities offer car rentals.
Getting Around
You will need your own car as there is no public or app-based transportation available in the area.
A 4-wheel drive vehicle is suggested as both The Local Chapter private roads and many of the best excursions in the Big Bend National Park and the Big Bend State Park are unpaved.
Rental cars are offered at the Midland airport and in limited supply in Marfa and Alpine.
